NOAA TEACHER AT SEA PROGRAM

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is sponsoring research for motivated K-16 teachers aboard an ocean-going research vessel. Teachers will submit a report including a mini-unit of lessons, ideas for classroom implementation, and an article for publication or oral presentation.

TETON SCIENCE SCHOOL

AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY

The American Meteorological Society is offering a summer workshop from July 21-August 1 for K-12 teachers at the National Weather Service Training Center in Kansas City, MO.  Housing, food, travel, and a stipend will be provided, and three semester hours of tuition-free graduate credit may be earned.  To apply or obtain more information, contact Ira W. NASA EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS (NEW)

A WEEK WITH AIMS - SCIENCE CONNECTIONS

 

These workshops show teachers how to integrate mathematics and science using real-world experiences.  They approach the integration of mathematics and science using the content of science as a basis.    Each week-long workshop includes about 30 hours of hands-on activities and investigations.  The cost is $360, and that includes instruction, materials, selected AIMS investigations with duplication rights, and selected AIMS publications.  To register, call 888-733-2467, or go to www.aimsedu.org/workshops/week/gweek1.html.
